Superbloom
31 May saw us hosted for a VIP visit to Superbloom at the Tower of London. Many thanks to the organisers for spending their time explaining to us the rationale and planting. This area has been specially landscaped to preserve the archaeology, and seeded so that it will provide a continuous changing bloom over the months to provide a green space for the various insect life (including bees and butterflies).
This will be a permanent feature of the Moat and it is satisfying that the Company is recognised amongst others for making a contribution to this planting.
Following the visit a small group of us repaired to a local restaurant where we helped celebrate a birthday with a champagne lunch. I look forward to revisiting the site in the early autumn to view the progression of blooms.

Master, the Worshipful Company of Engineers
Note: To mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, over 20 million seeds have been sown in the moat of the Tower of London. Many members of the Company contributed to the appeal.
