On Thursday evening on the high walkway at Tower Bridge the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Michael Mainelli, revealed the 2024 inductees into the City of London Engineering Hall of Fame.

Presentations were made to

Professor Dame Ann Dowling OM DBE FREng FRS, Past President of Royal Academy of Engineering – nominated by The Worshipful Company of Engineers

Sir Robin Saxby, former CEO and Chair of ARM Holdings – nominated by Worshipful Company of Information Technologists

The remaining 2024 inductees were announced as:

Robert Hooke – nominated by The Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers

Frederick David Edwards – nominated by the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers

Sir Joseph Bazalgette – nominated by The Worshipful Company of Water Conservators

Sir John Wolf Barry – nominated by The Ironmongers’ Company

Sir Harold Yarrow – nominated by
The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights

A presentation was also made to Sir John Parker GBE, Past President Royal Academy of Engineering – who was nominated by The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights and had been previously inducted online during the pandemic.

The City Bridge Foundation and the 5 bridges in the City from Sue Threader, Bridgemaster.
