The Master and Wardens extend their warmest congratulations to Livery member Louise Hardy for recently winning not one but two Business Woman of the Year Awards.

Louise won the ‘Business Woman of the Year’ for large companies with a turnover greater than £25m at the National Business Women’s Awards in November 2021 when she was also named the judges choice for the ‘Overall Business Woman of the Year, 2021.’  The award recognised Louise’s roles as a chartered civil engineer, managing nationally significant infrastructure projects including the High Speed 1 railway and the London 2012 Olympics where she was Infrastructure Director managing £2bn worth of complex civil engineering projects.  Louise now has a non executive director portfolio sitting at main board level on FTSE listed and public sector engineering companies.

Louise combines her board roles with voluntary work in the sector, including educating youngsters on STEM careers and mentoring and developing women in the industry. It was such work that saw Louise declared the winner of the ‘Mentor of the Year’ award at the recent FL National Leadership summit. She went on to be announced as their ‘Overall Business Woman of the Year, 2021’ based upon her personal resilience, business  achievements, work in the community, and support of other women.
