The Master and Senior Warden represented the company at the modern Liveries Dinner at Armourer’s Hall on Monday 15th September. This evening was hosted and organised by the Worshipful Company of Tobacco Pipe Makers and Tobacco Blenders (WCTPMTB)

You may be surprised that the WCTPMTB is a ‘modern’ livery? They are number 82 in order of preference, and can trace their roots back to 1619 when James I granted a Royal Charter to the ‘Guild of Pipe Makers’ but have closed through various means (bankruptcy, forfeit of Charter etc) three times since then. This incarnation dates back to 1960.

Every guest was presented with a box of snuff and a beautiful handkerchief at their place setting. After dinner, guests were entertained by music from two Tobacco Pipe Maker’s scholars studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
