By kind permission of the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Michael Mainelli, the Company enjoyed its Annual Banquet at the Mansion House on Monday 21 October 2024. Guests were welcomed by a guard from Southwark Sea Cadet Unit and were joined by both Sheriffs, Gregory Jones KC and David Chalk. The Master Engineer, Dr Dolores Byrne OBE, presented Sheriff Jones with donations for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme. On the 219th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar, Hon Liveryman Rear Admiral Steven McCarthy proposed the traditional Royal Navy toast to the ‘Immortal Memory of Admiral Lord Nelson and those who fell with him.’ Our principal guest Leo Quinn spoke of the importance of the younger generation; how vital it is that we should support and nurture the development of their talent, skills and capabilities.
